Hi
I've also had a recent outbreak of Cyano.... red slime...

I've got zero Phos reading on my Salifert kit, and hopefully its just a bloom caused by the extra T5's I've added lately....

I want to be sure I can lose the Cyano I currently have, and then get some advice on my Photoperiod.
Had anyone ever used Antired?? I believe its a product to remove the red algae. Any opinions??

Any comments on my lighting arrangement appreciated also:
I have a tank 6'6" x 24" x 30".
Total water volume is around 1100 litres

Lighting is:
8am 2 x 80W T5 Actinics ON
10am 2 x 80W T5 Whites ON
12noon 2 x 80W T5 Whites ON
5pm 3 x 250W 10k Halides ON
9pm Halides OFF
10PM all 4 T5 Whites OFF
11pm 2 T5 Actinics OFF

Any advice / comments appreciated

Thanks

Even after reducing mine, I found little or no major shift in the slime. At the moment, I am looking into flow, as I did alter the positioning of my streams.

Hi,
I used Anti-red once and it worked,BUT I lost shrimps!I have also used Potassium Permanganate with success, whatever you use ,err on the cautious side.
I would definately cut down on your photoperiod as well.
Are you feeding too much at once?
cheers DES
