more help please!!!
i plan to change my 6' tropical marine tank to a natural coldwater marine tank , i live by the sea so collection of species and water is no problem, i set up a 2' tank and had it running with just a basic undergravel system, i stocked it very heavily with blennies, crabs, prawns , starfish etc, the system ran with no losses for 4 months, then i released all the stock back into the wild, so my next problem is can i do this in my 6' tank using the same system, but with some of my existing liverock, would the rock do the same job as in the tropical tank ie nitrate removal, any ideas please especially from anyone who keeps coldwater marines
thanks

Dont see why it wouldnt do the same job as its just filtration area at the end of the day.

However releasing livestock back into the sea after its been mixed with tropical live rock might be a bit iffy if you decide to do it later on. Perhaps you could boil the live rock to remove any bacteria etc? Or maybe it would be best to just use reef bones?

Keep us informed about your coldwater tank, pretty interested in hearing about them.
