how do you find the acrylic ,scratching wise ,certainly looks good

i saw sql101's acrylic tank today and was very impressed with the clarity of the acrylic compared to a glass tank

it can scratch but if you clean it with the correct mag float or acrylic pad its fine, to be honest you dont notice the scratches anyway, but ive found that some algies are a mission to remove, that said i would buy one again if we decide to go even bigger

i like softies and they seem to do well in my system with all the fish, we have recently set up a smaller cube tank witch we plan on filling with sps etc soon...

ill post some sump pics tomorow, its simple really 5 foot with loads of LR 2x 1262 return pumps and a Deltec 703 fed direct from tank and returns to sump lighting is a T8, rowa reactor made from a old fluid filter, i have twin ring mains with there own fuse box supplying the power, one for the halides via contacters and one for everything else, my elecy bill is scary!!!!

I'm just in the process of setting up my new 84L*24H*30W and looking to my sump.

I'm thinking of something along the lines of what you have - entry chamber, main section for LR and my AM 5000 Shorty and exit chamber for 2 x Eheim 1262s. Additional circulation in main section via powerheads and spraybars. No light.

Will be very interested to see your pics as your main tank is stunning !

thanks for the comments.

heres the sump pics, not a lot to see really..
theres 2 returns from the tank, one direct to the skimmer and the other to the sump, 2 return pumps one at either end of the sump with LR in between theres a lot of flow over the rock..

electric cupboard, 2 ring mains direct to a consumer unit.

Am I correct is thinking that you do not have any baffles in your sump ?

Ducati916

thats correct no baffles just lots of flow, the return pumps are 5 feet apart and the overflows from the tank and skimmer run into the middle of the sump and over the rocks, the sump is a standered 5 foot tank..

cheers
