Up Date On White Spot

A few days ago I started a post on white spot and was recommended to empty all l/r out and put copper in this is not possible (and why would I want to kill my tank) and also recommended to catch all fish also not possible also try catch box they laugh at it (also no time) so then got recommended garlic and a cleaner wrasse got told I was dreaming well I'm gunna carry on dreaming white spot looks to be going so for time been going to carry on with garlic until totally gone and buy uv system and garlic every now and again.......thanks all ...Brian

good to hear it, but it never worked for me either UV or garlic. Research has been done on both, it is not a proven treatment or medication.

UV works well well on white spot but you need a high dose something in the order of 200,000 microwatt seconds per centimeter squared for up to 72 h. Most non-commercial systems don't deliver this dose or the bulbs aren't changed frequently enough due to the high costs and UV can seem to be very ineffective.
