Hi. I was wondering if anyone as any success in breeding of the Maroon Clownfish. I have finally got a pair after many attempts of a match up.(4 killed before this match). These two have over the last week become very teritorial and attack anything that comes close . (including my hand) mainly the larger female .
the behaviour of the pair give me a indication of inpending spawning.the female is the dominant member of the pair since she is larger and seems chiefly responnsible for defense of the territory.she is the one that attacks the fish net,or hand that dare to invade there protectorate. The male seems to be clearing a flat area constantly fanning .
any one can give me any advice.

Just give them time fella.
first they will claim there terratory (proebly what you are seeing). Once this is done and they feel safe and happy enough they WILL spawn.

This usually takes a year or so though! Just keep them happy and it will come. Clowns like routine also so dont change anything, you can really upset a pair if you mess with the tanks rockwork and things in 'there' area.

well
i know someone who succeeded - maybe you can ask him
he was posting asking about what he can feed his brand new 7 day old babies at this board (http://www.thereeftank.com/forums/f186/maroon-clown-fish-baby-diet-105265.html) - it was a while ago but I'm sure if you contact him he will help you out.

hi btw, i'm new, just trying to find out a lot of information befire i actually put any money down into this hobby, cuz it's a beautiful thing, but whoooo---eee it's expensive, my friend lost THOUSANDS of dollars worth of fish from lack of knowledge
