hi...i got a 5x2x2 tank with 48"sump.....would an ocean runner 2500 be man enough for this,as a sump return????

Personnally id be looking more towards a 3.5 minimum for that size tank. after head loss on a 2.5, your only looking at around 1900lph if your lucky.

You also need to consider if you have sufficient capacity in the weir(s) to be able to get that much water through

the 2500 will do the job mate but i agree the 3500 would be a lot better i see your looking at halides with them babies running the more water movment the better, algae prevention wise mate and a 3500 would definatly aid that, thats what i use

Is their a way of calculating the amount of flow though a wier??
I am thinking of going for a 5*2*2 (maybe bigger!?!?!) and i only wont to run 1 wier but i would like it as small as possible.
I was planning on buying a Ocean runner 6500, what size pipe/weir would i need??
