HI
As a large polyp I would of thought not, also if it is a trach which are now very hard to get would suggest its not worth the risk. I have heard of people in the states turning brian corals face down into the sand effectively killing them and getting multiple budding off happening as the main coral starts to die. Never felt the need to try that route.

You might look at the possibilities of conditioning it up and inducing spawning and settlement now that is far more interesting and cutting edge than just chopping them up.

i do not think you can frag them. they tend waste away if you damage the tissue, to risky i think.

I have heard that you can wrap an elastic band around it then the bit where the band is will die so you end up with two!

But weather it works well i dont know!

Interesting if not somewhat gare'ish concept. About as artful as a poodle.

Jez, do you know if trachs are gonochoric/hermaphroditic or dependant on the individual? Can they change their method of sexual reproduction depending on their environment? Can any corals for that matter?

Do you guys induce any of your corals at the farm or do you just chop them up?

Cheers

Edd
