Hi

I'm hoping one of hte MODS will read the post and shed some light on uploading video. Failing that I'll upload it to my .MAC website and will post the link here.

dont wish to disappoint but the foreplay/courting that i observed went on for approxiamtley 30 minutes, how long they were at it before i noticed is anyones guess.

but the actual deed lasted a matter of seconds, she disappeared behind a rock and emerged with what I would describe as a bunch of salmon coloured grapes ( serious case of Chalfonts) hanging below her, He scooped them up in a blink of the eye.

the courting continued for another couple of hours and as I type they are still swimming in close proximity to each other.

Thats smart, always wondered what happens after the jiggy bit. Good choice of music as well, had the misses laughing.

I.m glad you enjoyed the music someone suggested a bit of barry white would have been more appropriate.

so if anyone has any requests I'll try and oblige

I'm going to make some adjustments and upload it again as some people including myself have had problems accessing the site.

Sunday morning I spotted two baby bangais hovering in between spines of black urchin. I managed to siphon them out and drop them into the weir. at this time dad still had a mouthful and was hanging out next to the weir and the following morning two more babies found their way into the weir.

i've been feeding them crumbled flake and blended brine shrimp whilst I'm hatching some BBS.

can anyone suggest a reliable off the shelf food I can feed them on until the BBS hatch

Hi
The easiest emergency food I have found for these is SFB baby brine shrimp, just defrost and either coat with zoecon or the spray stuff from new era to boost the profile a bit.

Brineshrimp should only take 24 hrs with constant light and although you will need to grow them out the babies will get started on instar 1.

Important to spread the feeding out.

Congrats

Jez

Hi Jez

thanks for the advice, I've had some SERA brine shrimp eggs in an aquamedic hatcher hanging on the side of teh tank since sunday and they have only just started to hatch.

I've been feeding the nippes with blended frozen brine shrimp mixed with flake and they seem to be eating it so hopefully the little critters will make it. only time will tell

Hi Everyone

caught dad in early hours of this morning and harvested a mouthful of baies and transferred them to the weir.

unfortunatley a number of them got trapped on the net covering the downpipe to the sump but a number of them have setteld into the black spine urchin together with the three I captured last week.

fed them with cyclopeze and decapsulated artemia cysts and they seem to be thriving well with bloated little bellies.

I've shot some video using my Canon XL2 with 16x manual lens set to Macro.

Will be downloading eh footage shortly and uploading it to YouTube for he benefit of everyone out there.

will post the link shortly.

Hi Everyone

here is the link to the video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Wn8-_PuwT4g

If it fails to work simply visit YouTube and search for Bangai or baby Bangais and you should find it.
