I don't think the issue is which fish they will live with, the difficulty with these fish is keeping them well fed. There are a few members on here who currently have them, but many many people have bought them and just watched them fade away. They seem to require something to eat which is just not present in the majority of closed systems.

i've also heard that they need enormous tanks to keep them happy because in the wild the make large circles around coral bommies which is something difficult to allow except in the largest tanks. apparantly they do eat corals, in particular button polyps but their natural fare in the wild is small sponges.
just reporting what i've been told so it might not be right
Few people manage to keep these fish long term. They will peck at all corals as they forage for food.
I feed mine on a veriety of frozen, fresh and dried food. I have a 6 ft tank with over 100kgs of live rock covered in sponges etc. I have had mine for over 18 months.
He quite happily swims with my tangs, however doesn't like my lipstick and will attack him if he gets close enough.
