Can anyone help ???

My carpet anemone, although normally a "good boy", last night decided to give the seio pump a quick cuddle:eek:

Found him this morning with bits missing around his edge, and well & truly stuck to the pump... After a few minutes of messing with him, I managed to get him off the pump, but with a little more damage to his edges...:(

Can anyone tell me if he will "self repair" or do I have to get rid of him ???

He seems to be OK (apart from the edge damage) but I am not sure ...

Any advice would be appreciated..

many thanks,

Dave W

if i were you i would keep an eye on him and hope he makes a recovery, if you don't already, run some carbon, maybe a polyfilter, prepare for a large water change should he not heal and just be patient.

maybe give mikey a pm, he is the resident anemone expert.

thread cleaned up :(

this is always going to be a subject for heated discussion, one that has been covered many times. could i ask that any further replies in this thread are for rolfman2000 and aimed at helping his damaged animal.

thanks.

Thanks Scoob,

all I wanted was some help with a damaged animal... not an arguement with someone else...

If [name edited by scoob to keep the peace :) ] has just said this had been covered before, with maybe a link, I may not have lost my temper... Apologies to others who saw this...

I get enough sarcasm during working hours without it bleeding over into our hobby.

Best wishes,

Dave W

I have seen this before Dave, and the nem was fine after a while, it may reject food for a while, but that wont do it any harm no matter what peole say about feeding it, its sick, we dontwant to eat then either some times. My advise would be to leave it quietly alone, keep an eye on it to make sure it is OK, they have amazing regenerative powers.

Ignore the after the fact knockers, this happens to many people, just most of them dont admit it ;)
