Hi All,

I've got a couple of questions on Aquatronica...

Is there anyway I can program temperature control to overrride timer controlled programs and turn off heat producing items...Ive tried and failed!

When temp hits excess levels my fan kicks in but I also wanted it to switch off sump lights. Sump lights are programed on a timer and I cant get the temperature program to overide the timer program (hope that makes sense!). Can this be done?

Finally, (Ive emailed Aquatronica for support on this and just getting impatient for a reply), I have an additional plug bar to add to my existing system of one controller and plug bar. Now when I connect the two plug bars using a USB lead the power switches off temporarily and the controller screen goes blank. I cant think of anything to try and fix this...reckon I have a faulty plug bar or am I missing something simple?

Cheers

If you get a reply, I would love to know which email address you used.

I have emailed them twice. Either they are ignoring me or the emails are not getting through.

Go to the temperature menu and insert a new program.
In this program, set the Reference Temp to the temp you want to the light to turn back on at and Delta Max to the temperature difference above Ref Temp that you want it to turn the light off at.
Now set the output plug to be the lamp socket, to Ref to 'up', and the state to 'Off'

This picture shows it except that for MH the Delta Max should be 0.6c to allow time for the MH lamp to cool down before being re-started.

I've emailed them as well (at their request) to sort out a new pH probe as mine gave up the ghost.

No reply at all.

Gavin,

I had probs with my PH probe. I phoned the shop I purchased it from and they got the UK rep to call me who sorted everything out. He is a member on here I believe.

Tony, thanks.

Your GUI is different to mine...maybe your using a more recent firmware version (Ive not updated mine since opening the box)...or is that a PC based interface?

I've tried to replicate the principles in your post ie. when the max temp delta is reached then the plug socket for the lights are deactivated but this process appears to be given a lower priority over the timer program also allocated to that plug socket (ie, socket stays live and the plug stays flagged with the 'timer' icon).

I actually spoke to Ian who said to email them.

The picture is from the PC interface . I have never programmed the control panel, so could only describe it from the PC viewpoint. It definitely works on mine. The temperature program overrides the timer for that socket. Are you sure all the 'states' are set up correctly? I'll have a look at my control panel tonight to see how that displays the 'states' for this program.

I've been emailing Aquatronica as well for the past 2 weeks with no response  , not even an acknowledgement.

IIRC last time I spoke to Ian on the phone, he had email/i-net problems due to a lightning strike from a thunder storm.

I'll try to contact him and get him talking to you guys via UR ;)

Hi Guys,

Italy is shut for 2 weeks national holiday time in Europe I'm afraid. I have been of all this week, mainly due to no internet (because as Tony said, I was actually hit by the lightning, well the house and phone lines). All back on now.

Please PM me any indvidual problems and we will arrange to change the kit. Derek, the English speaker in Italy, is away for three weeks(this is the end of his second week) as he has returned to Canada, where his family is. ( I only knew this yesterday, when my e-mail came back on).

Normal service as of Monday, but please, where possible, if its a probe, take it back to place of purchase and get them to change it. All the shops selling Aquatronica should have a display model and they also should be able to help you programme it.

I have had a look at my display and this is how to program the Aquatronica using the display panel, to turn off your light when the temperature is excessive.

Go to the temperature menu and insert a new program.

In this program, set the Reference Temp to the temp you want to the light to turn back on at and Delta-Max to the temperature difference above Ref Temp that you want it to turn the light off at.
http://www.ultimatereef.net/uploader/2006Q1/Aquatronica_Temp1.gif

Now select Plugs and Right-arrow to the letter which is the lamp socket. Then use the Up-arrow key to enable the 'temperature' icon on the upper row of the sockets display.
http://www.ultimatereef.net/uploader/2006Q1/Aquatronica_Temp2.gif

The controller will now turn the lamp off when the temperature reaches Ref-temp + delta-Max, overriding the timer setting, and turn it on again when the temperature falls to Ref-temp as long as the timer period is on.
Press Enter and Enter again to confirm the changes.

You can warm the temperature sensor with your hand to test that the feature is working how you expect it to :)

hope that is clearer
Tony
