What do you all use for reading your temp in your tank, other than IKS or Aquatronica or other computer aid. Thanks Eric:)

I use a LAE thermostatic controller for the heater and another for the fans, which display the tank temps.

Also use an RS max min digi thermometer.

I use my elbow to test the temprature and I dip my finger in and taste it to check salinity.

system 2000 modules with digital displays, i have an alarm module and heater controller, one of them is always 0.1 c higher than the other, pretty close though. compared them to a standard glass thermometer a while back and they were all reading pretty much the same so im happy with the accuaracy.

I use a small digital temp thermometer. I picked it up from my local Maidenhead Aquatics. Small probe to pop in tank and a velcro tag to attach it to the front lid where I can see it.

Also has high low temp alarm, and a number of settable reminders to sound when your water change is due, filter clean and system check for example. Nice looking display also, silver in colour.

Cost me a tenner a few weeks back think they were on offer usual RRP 14.99.

Cheers

sounds from johnlfc`s description like ive got the same one as him, I do check with a glass thermometer from time to time but the digi one hasn`t given any different readings from the glass one so far

Yes, likewise. I've seen people complain that they read high, but I use a glass thermometer as a backup and the high/low temp alarm is excellent - all for a tenner!

Thanks guys the reason i asked was that i have 4 different digital temp gauges and they all read a different temp. I have the LAE one i got off ebay, an A-M Computer one, a cheapy one with no name on, and one that i ave had for years that a friend made at college for me. The temp difference is between 3 and 4 degrees which is a lot so i just thought i would see what others use. Regards Eric

I use a glass one now, I actually dropped my digi one in the tank but I found out afterwards it was reading too high.
