Cutting a large leather

My leather coral has one stem which splits into two, each branch head is about 6" across (hope that made sence?).

Its too big for my tank (Jewel Vision 180).

Do i just get a sharp knife and cut the second branch off at the main stem?:confused:

Has tutorials of fragging sarcophytons your second head could end up as 10!!!!
