guys do we have release date for the tunze nano streams as of yet :D
September 06 but as its Tunze expect that date to slip.
From RC, Tunze rep
"I got an update today, there will be a slight delay. We still may recieve a handful of pumps before September is over but it is looking now like mid October. The problem is the safety certifications have met with delays as the guy in charge of certifying the product is on vacation and until he can inspect the factory, full scale production with the German safety (GS) marks is not possible. It looks like the US ETL safety mark is still on schedule but we want the product to be available in all markets virtually simultaneously."
German safety (GS) marks
So much for European harmonisation - I thought the CE mark was supposed to be enough for all of Europe....
Just looked at the bottom of an external DVD drive attached to my laptop and it has the following marks:
UL (product met UL's safety requirements)
CSA (CSA is a North American leader in product certification)
CE (product meets all the appropriate provisions of the relevant legislation implementing certain European Directives.)
TUV (registered certification mark of TUV Rheinland of North America)
GS (certification mark traditionally associated with the German marketplace)
FCC (regulated by the Federal Communications Commission)
VCI (equipment evaluated to VCCI requirements - Japan)
N (Nemko's own certification mark for electrical products marketed in Norway)
MIC (certifications for general ITE in Korea)
So it looks like four for US, two for Europe, one for Japan, one for Norway and one for Korea. I am suprised that any manufacturer ever maanges to get any product on the market with this many ceritifcations! :)
Eddie
Just found another bit of info: "The ETL Listed Mark is the legal equivalent of the UL Listed and CSA Listed Marks throughout the United States and Canada." So there appears to be a way of stream lining the process a bit.......

Thay have a demo on in Paraquatics (Brighton) now, looks like a good bit of kit.

On the pdf I downloaded they still looked huge!

i think they had the biggest ofthem opperational but even that was considerably smaller than a regular stream.
HTH
May not be here until Jan 07 now !!
if they keep delaying it , the vortech pumps will be in the uk before them
wot volume do they pump/hr? was looking at them but wont be bothered if their not that strong otherwise could get a 2500L rio 1700 for £25

The 6025 will pump 2500 L an hour. 7w power consumption and are around 70mm in size.
There's a review of them in this months Marine World mag - they look very efficient power wise, and the flow looks pretty good as well
Phil
It seam strange
Tunze is not a new company anf it has been in business for ages
why they need to inspect the factory that already produce many marine equipments?
I believe it is certification of the product itself rather than the factory. The bit that seems odd to me is "the guy in charge of certifying the product is on vacation" - so there is only one person who is able to authorise the GS mark????
Cheers, Eddie
and why the hell did they let him go on holiday now??
just seen that theres been some pics posted on rc showing a nano stream next to 6300 for size comparison..

Noticed this comment in one of the replies by Roger in that thread:
I am a bit out of the loop now as Mr. Tunze is in China for the CIPS trade show. He did call me this morning though and said production had started and he still believed they would be at least in my warehouse by the end of October still. I won't have any firm info until he is back from China.

Sounds like it shouldn't be too long until they are around......
Eddie
I like the pitch
"They havn't been delayed, the dates have just been corrected" :D
I'm gonna remember that one for future use.
anyone know the price range/s on these? :D
Guide prices from Coral Culture - other sponsors will be able to help as well:
Nano Stream 6025 - £41.99
Nano Stream 6045 - £63.99
Nano Stream 6055 - £135
Bear in mind that the product has not yet hit the shelves so there could be flucations in the final price.
I pre-ordered a couple of 6025s from a Dutch site back at the beginning of August for €48,00 (about £32 at the time).
HTH, Eddie
thanxz mate :)
think my tank can wait just that bit more then lol...
A comment from Roger of Tunze USA yesterday:
the the first 6025 will arrive early next week. The 6045 should follow later in the week or the following week and the 6055 won't be out until December.
Looking good!!
Any suppliers in the UK have any information on ETA?
Cheers, Eddie
the first UK nano streams (smallest model) is due in the UK second week of November
I need one of these now! wish they would hurry up!

i second that :D come on hurry up Tunze and get on with it
Still dont think they will be about till Feb 07 from rumours I've heard.
Can you use a controller with the nano streams, if so is it just the standard stream controller or will there be a new nano controller coming out?
Can you use a controller with the nano streams
IIRC , the 7091 or 7095 will control the nanostreams , but only the 6055, dont believe the 6025 or 6045 are controllable.
and i wish they would hurry up as well, they're available in the US

No reason why not but you'd need one of these transformeres at 15.99

i'll maybe just wait, bit of a bummer if it breaks and i need to return it.

The two smaller ones will be freqeuency locked to the mains frequency (synchronous motors), so if you used the US one in the UK it would run at 50/60ths of the right speed, and also because it's running at lower than expected frequency the load would be higher leading to premature failure, or at least a higher probability of a shorter time before failure.
But other than that....
I used to live in Zaire where we have this problem, loads of people over from the US using their equipment with step down transformers couldn't work out why their clocks lost so much time! It's amazing how many things are actually locked into the mains frequency. In a couple of things I built I've used the mains as a very stable timebase as it really is very very stable.
Alan.
so whos selling these then?? its nearly end of nov :D

IF ordered now when would I expect delivery and are they the best place to get an order in for early delivery
Well rockpoolie, you might be lucky but I know paraquatics have lots of pre-orders reserved via deposit..... so I'd assume these will be going out first and then it will be a fight for any remaining....
I reserved an electronic one ages ago.... I'm not really expecting to receive it until feb....hopefully sooner but I doubt it

Went into a Tunze main dealer today, they have absolutely no idea when the nano streams will be out, didnt sound likely before xmas at all, I reckon Feb to march time
Just got a mail message from Gary Barden of Tunze UK:
the Nano's are due next week
Woohoo!
Eddie
does anyone have the price list for them?

Its about F'ing time they turned up.
Maestro: The 6045 is around £65 (4500lph) while the 6025 is around £45 (2500lph) and the 6055 im not sure
I'm thinking of buying these for my new 325 ltr tank, 2-3 with a 7095 controller do you think they will be ok for it. The 4,500 lts nanostreams are cheap
is a controller necessary for these? do you HAVE to have one ?

well i got my first nano today :D sweet bit a kit that 6025:rolleyes:
Think the 6055 is around £135
TeeJay, no the controller is not a must they work without one and its only the 6055 that will be able to be controlled.
Jay
Having seen prometheus's nano stream I must say it is a lovely little pump. It's hardly any bigger than a maxijet, but with all the benifits of the stream's wider more gentle flow.
Cant wait to see what the electronic 6055 are like......
Just a few thoughts on the 6025's;
The magnetic holders that are supplied free with them, are great [very strong, so don't let them touch each other!] Assemble the pump to the magnet carefully as the attachment lugs can be damaged fairly easily.
Don't position closer than 2 inches below water surface or you can get a vortex of air sucked down which will result in microbubbles.[don't forget to allow for evaporation, so 3 inches may be better]
I found I needed 2 x 6025's for my 30 gallon cube. [2 x 6055's would be a better but costlier option, and I would turn these down at night]
I am pleased will the 4 units I have, but i've only run them a week, so will see how they continue performing.
I have a 6025 in my nanocube24. I cannot figure out to put a pix to show you. 2500l/h or 660 us gals. Works great and quite. The 6055 is adjustable 264 to 1253 us gals.
Hi j_r, welcome to UR
To post a picture you need to ensure that it is no bigger then 150,000 bytes on your disk, then use the Uploader in the menu above, then hi-light and copy the link ...., and paste it into your post. For further help see this thread (http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/showthread.php?t=143635)

Would this be a good idea to replace my dual Aquaclear 402 powerheads?
They havent arrived yet, bought for £18 both delivered but havnt arrived so maby lost in post. So i need new ones but then i see this Tunze nano 6025 with wide slow and good lph.
My question is it too much for a Juwel Rio 125, it wud be put in the bottom right hand corner about half way.
