I've waited 11 months to add my first tang (as everyone stressed they couldn't go into an unmature tank) I purchased a yellow tang 8 days ago, he has been feeding well and looked in good health - I went to bed last night and he was fine, swimming well and fed yesterday, I woke up this morning to find him stuck to the side of my anenome with a crab on one side and a snail on the other, both his fins have gone and his eyes...... I've extraced the remains but I can see no signs of any white-spot, fin rot or any other ailment, water parameters are all good....... can anyone suggest what the hell might have happened - the only two things I can think to blame are the reasonably agreesive humbug damsel (he's only small though) and the anenome - I do find this terribly upsetting and rather disheartening.... :(

What sort of Anemone have you got? Carpet Anemone's have a reputation for catching fish. He may have wandered into its path and got snared.

Otherwise it may be just one of those unexplained deaths that occasionally happens in this hobby.
