30" deep tank

What are peoples views on wattage of single MH for 30" deep tank running mainly as FOWLR and a couple of softies.

My thoughts are a single 250w with actinics :D

Need to find a light soon as tank arrives on Tue :)

Dont think you even need actinics for fowler fella. I'd go with a single 250w aquabay unit. :)

what sort of lighting period would i be able to use if i did not have actinics for dimmer light.

would i then just leave the tank in darkness or use moonlights for the rest of or some of the time

Ooo I supose you could use moonlights, try and experiment in using them to encourage spawning? Not necessary IMO though :)
