Just bought myself a nice encrusting Monti today,a lovely blue with green polyps.Ive notice over on the yanky forums they like to show off their colourful monti's so i thought id start a thread so we can show ours!
Doesnt matter if they are platingIcapricornis etc),encrusting(Danae etc) or finger(Digitata) just bring em on.Lets do the U.k proud!
If this thread becomes popular perhaps we can have a sticky mods?Maybe an Acro pics thread too?
Heres my efforts, excuse the camera skills and Bryopsis here and there lol.

Looking again i think it might be a Montipora Undata or confusa.
Looking again i think it might be a Montipora Undata or confusa.
Agree with possibility of undata or still could be pavona.
But so what great coral all the same whatever it’s called.

Woo hoo, hotting up,there are some fantastic monti's there.
As for the lettuce slugs,i have three from fishman. They settle near the bryopsis but hard to guage how much is being consumed at the mo as they seem slow workers.
Tony
give them time tony when they go they will go and soon there will be no more:o

I gave them a 'team slug' talking too this morning so im hoping theyre gonna get their act together soon.I had visions of em flying around the tank like kids in a sweet shop at first lol.It would seem they definately like to work at their own pace he he.
Not much of patch on some of previous, but here goes
http://www.suttonreef.co.uk/image_bucket/img_2189.gif
Had some tissue loss on this after about a week of putting in the tank. It seems to be recovering itself. Also it turned from brown to a purple/brown and the main growth areas purple.
http://www.suttonreef.co.uk/image_bucket/img_2156.gif
I have frags of this all over the tank, grows like wild fire.

One of my originals from Fishman Frags.
http://www.suttonreef.co.uk/image_bucket/img_2163.gif
Picked this up from LFS the other week, the picture doesn't do it justice, the colour isn't right. Should be a bright pink.
continued....
When I picked this one up from a fellow reefer, he said it was sky blue. But turned brown in his tank. Hopefully fingers crossed it might change back in mine.

Its a green feather type algae that grows in tufts.Doesnt seem to care if you low Nitrate or Phosphate and most fish and inverts find it unattractive to eat.It possibly contains toxic substances to put em off.
Once it starts to grow it can get out of control and grow over and shade out corals.Heres a pic

Edit: Forgot to include the two 55w Actinics.

I'm not convinced thats an undata.
Clayton do you have any frags of those 2 ready ?
well i have struggled for the last few days looking for a match and comparing them to the actual animal, i dont think its undata, the polyps are very few and recessed deep into the ridges, but then again it could just be a growth form resulting from the conditions it was grown in. Best match picture wise was verrucosa,(but not for colour) but it could have been a miss idendified speciman:cool:
just have to wait and see how it grows:rolleyes:

I would say an encrusting Confussa or Verrucosa.
