light distance

hi can anyone advise me on the distance i should have my m/h light from the surface of the ???

ps depends on the mh wattage and how deep the tank is aswell

Most manufactuers state 30cms. But quite a few lower it a little to cut down on glare. I like mine at 30cms though as it still gives me room to work without burning my hands :).
