hi there, our Powder Blue tang (new addition) has been spiked by the Yellow tang. The spike is broken and the tip is left on the Powder blue body. Does anyone suggest that I try to catch the powder blue and perhaps try to take the tip out? Or shall I leave it and hope for the best?

This powder blue is healthy and eating and no white spots, but I'm scared of stressing it by trying to catch it.

You can seen the wound where the YT has lost it's barb? I ask as this is quite a hard thing to remove from the YT. I would have thought it is more likely that the tip is actually a bit of raggedy flesh from the wound the YT inflicted.

initially i would advise caution as I would suspect that assuming the fish are fit these type of woulds heal up quite quickly on there own

We think it is the tip of the YT's spike that is snapped and left on the Powder Blue's body. I think they did this during a fight, :-(.

I also think leaving the PB alone to see if the tip will fall off, but just was asking to make sure....Thanks Wombat.
