Most places should be able to get these. They can be pricey depending on the shop though, i've seen them sell for anything from £12.00 - £25.00 which gram/£ must make them one of the most expensive fish available :D

Well worth it though IMO :D

Cheers

I know TMC seasonally breed the blue striped version, not seen the gold ones though?

The gold ones usually cost about 50% more....most shops should be able to get them for you. Blues go for £9 to £14, gold £14 to £20 (at least that is the prices I have seen). I find that Tangs like them, as they "land" on the side of the Tang to clean it. The Tang will lean over at about a 20% angle. A mated pair will move around a tank together, whilst a non mated pair will chase each other if the Tank is smaller that 4ft. (Well they chased each other in the 3ft and choose an endf each in the 4ft!)...but they do not kill each other (both lived for about 4 years).

If a shop has a group of 10 or so you might be able to spot a mated pair (if they have been in the shop long enough...as they are not usually good sellers..which I find unusual).

NB: There was an article a year or so ago that showed that there were at least 20 or so distinct species...the markings of the stripes vary.

Good luck in finding some.

PS: They are easy to feed...if anything far to greedy as they are very fast..and if you feed artemia or copepods they can easily get fat!

They make a much better option than Cleaner Wrasses.
