Hi All!

For a while now I have been trying to come up with a solution to lighting this tank....

http://www.ultimatereef.net/forums/showthread.php?t=187034

The planned look is for a wall of rock down the 150cm and 60cm and 26cm sides with a central pillar / bommie.

Anyone care to throw in some ideas on how to light the sucker effectivley. I've been looking down the T5 route with a couple of pendants but are concerend over how direct down the light would travel i.e. would the areas not directley under the pendants be lit well.

Idea was 1 x 120cm with 6 54w and 1x 90cm with 6 39w...

or just belt a couple 250w halides in the centre... or..or....something else.

Cheers

Mike

Think the answer depends on what corals you're going to keep, but in general, t5s are better than halides if you're worried about shading, as they don't provide just a point source of lighting. For lots of SPS, though, a multiple halide setup would be better.

good point there... main plan is some softies / polyps from the old tank and maybe some lps etc
