What M/H wattage required?

Hi, just a quick question... what wattage Metal Halide would be required for a 21" tall by 24" deep, by 48" long tank, keeping mainly fish, and a few soft corals? LFS said it would need 200 Watts of T5's, would a 150 Halide (currently one for sale in the equipment forum) do the job as haven't much cash? It's not for me, just most of my dad's starter units have just blown on his old tank after a water leak, which was running on T8's somehow???

150 halide would be fine for what you want. but with a 4ft tank a twin halide may be better
