MH lights - When to replace?

I'm new to this so havn't had to replace a bulb yet.
The bulb is about 12 month's old - should I replace it?
If so, what with? Should I go for AquaMedic or are there any good, cheaper alternatives?

what wattage bulb is it? what sort of effect are u looking for.

It is a 150W bulb, no actinics so I will go for something fairly blue, I was thinking of 14k or 20k

the BLV 10k produces a nice chrisp white with a hint of blue. If your not after a high par value then the xm20k bulb is very blue but brings out good colours

I use two blv 150watt 20ks along with one blue and one marine white tube to give the right balance.Without the white you will find it abit to blue looking.
