aquatronica program setting

can any one suggest how to or what the best settings for a aquatronica unit would be to turn on and of dose unit to kalk stirrer depending on what the ph of the tank is have been told this is the best way to dose .have kalk set up to replace all evaporatived water and spare plug on bar so was thinking that setting the unit to stay on upto 8.3 and of above this does this sound okay

Hi,

Yes you could use the Ph control function to start dosing if, say the pH drops below 8.1 (or whatever you like).

However, this may not keep up with evaporation, or may be to little.

When I have used kalk in the past, I used to top-up via a float switch with the RO running through the kalk 24/7.

Other people use it only during the night, say 5 minutes every hour (via timer), but with the pH control preventing a dose should you go over desired pH, while there auto top-up is straight RO.

Depends on your calcium demand, evaporation rates, if you have problems maintaing a good pH.

Really you will have to try out with the kit you have and see how you get on and go from there.

Sorry, no 'do it this way' answer simply to many variables for that!

cheers wavey have managed to set a program but not sure how to set the ref point and the min max points have set values of 8.3 for ref and .10 for min and .10 for max but does not seem to turn on and off.

How have you set the plugs?

Bottom line(plug that pumps through stirrer), high lighted will switch something on when it reaches 8.2, then of when it gets back to ref(8.3).
