Anyone know if its safe if I plugged my 4 * 400 watt ballasts into a plug bar.

At present I have them running through timers via contactors as the timers melt otherwise.

I think I've read somewhere that the plug bar is ok upto 3k but I want to be sure.

I would allow me to control my lights better as I have now replaced the reflectors and dumped my antinics

Thanks.

Craig I thought each bar could go up to 3k also.

Why not still use the contactors? Just to be on the safe side...

Ah I see - that's what I've done too. So I got four contactors :D But it does look like they're redundant and I'm just paranoid.

yep, I had 2 contactors each controlling 2 halides, could have run them all on one but didnt want them all coming on at same time. Would have prefered 4 contactors from start but it was a good way of cutting costs.

Now though, I have 4 lights as follows through the plug bar.

1. 1300 - 1900
2. 1400 - 2000
3. 1500 - 2100
4. 1600 - 2200

So all lights are on for 3 hours.
eAch light on for 6 hours.

this was 5 hours, but I've just increased by 1 hour due to changing my reflectors today and junking my antinics.

I will continue to increase lighting back to 8 hours per lamp over the next 2 months
