That tiltles an excellent name for a film i recon :p

Although my knowledge is limited on this topic, I believe you can get special nets for doing this.

Hi,

Which species of fish are you talking about, or is it just a general question?

With Clownfish larvae, in my experience I have found Siphoning to be a fairly effective technique. You can focus the beam of a torch onto the base of the tank which will attract the larve to the light and make it easier to siphon them out. You could try a siphon tube with a smaller bore which should be slower but slightly less stressful for the babies.

The other way to do it is to try anticipate the hatch and move the rock the parents have spawned on just before the eggs hatch. With my Clownfish this is normally the evening of the 8th day about 1 hour after lights out. As a double check if you look at the spawn and you can see silver tips then they are generally ready to hatch.

Hope this helps

Cheers.
