The drip method would be a good choice. As for time, I always do around 40 minutes.

Simple rules i use as follows.

Fish: allways introduced late in the day/early evening if at all possible after the rest of the fish have been fed and i can switch the lights off early, or at least dim to actinics only. floated for half an hour then switch a cupfull every 5 min until equalised on salinity, then release (usually takes about an hour total)

Corals. Drip feed from main tank to overflowing bag in sump over 4-5 hours, then switch to main tank and leave at the bottom for a week or more if sensitive to light shock.

Crustacians: 2-3 hours on drip from main tank to overflowing bag in sump, then switch to main tank. (no changes in lighting etc.)

Snails, urchins, starfish, cucumbers, anemones etc. allways dripped 'very slowly' from main tank to overflowing sump bag over night at least 12 hours to avoid osmotic damage to more sensitive internal organs and the hydro vascular system.

The drip simply consists of an airline and tap which can be adjusted.

Si.

with inverts i like the pricked bag method... put 1/2 a dozen pin hoes in the bag then float it for a couple of hours... the water slowly diffuses both ways until the water in the bag = water outside the bag
