Just wondering what mods you have done to your nano tank to make it reef compatable.

Ive seen a nice tank perfect size for where i need, its all glass. So i need to do all the work to it. Just wondering what you have done?

im going to put a false wall in so i can hide pumps, heaters etc behind it.

I just did the usual lights and flow, I'm sure it will be a sinch after your fiberglass tank! HOB refugiums are a popular mod if you fancy doing one of those..

lol. :)
the fibreglass tank was ALOT easier than you could imagine.

altho know ive seen alot of things id rather have done to it.

i took the return pipes out the back, which meant i had to shorten the tank to allow for the pipe returns :(

any way...to my nano...

i might pick up the tank today, Not to sure tho.

updates later :)

for now i shall be going to acropora :)

I'm currently in the process of researching and setting up my first tank, a 40x40x40 cube tank. Not going to push the limits with any fish, just live rock and clean up crew with a shrimp or two (in the end). The set-up I'm going for at the moment is lots of Live rock, a big powerhead to generate enough flow, and a HOB fuge. Being lazy, I've bought a small HOB "Biological waterfall feature" that I'll gut all the filter media out of and see if anything needs plugging etc. Only issue is I think its quite small for the tank (but somethings better than nothing I guess!)

The filter in question being the thing at the top http://www.aquaworldlimited.co.uk/acatalog/Boyu_External_Filter.html

If it works, but not well enough I'm thinking I might look into getting another, and cutting it up and extending it, somehow making it watertight!

do you mean 40" or 40cm?

40 inches would meen it was 256 gallons - so not a nano, he means 40 cm :D

What would be cool is if you copied the false back on the d&d nanocube but put bigger sections in it,for example you could use one for polyfilter another for a cryptic zone or fuge and another for the return pump and heater so then u wont see no equipment in the tank.

Another thing u will need to consider is lighting,Compact T5s are usually best for nanos and you can still keep mostly all LPS and Softies under them with no probs but even Compact T5s get hot so you'll wanna put a couple of PC fans in the hood to aid ventillation
