Hi all,

Was at my LFS yesterday and they were saying they had some skimmers coming in from D&D that fit in the nanocube back filter bit...

After doing a bit of research on www.theaquariumsolution.co.uk

i found this which is the Deltec MCE300 which i think they are probably talking about. In which case it will have to have a hood mod to be able to fit on the back by i may consider one. http://www.deltecaquariumsolutions.com/NewProductsPage.htm

They are advertised in their price list at £150 which isnt too bad and may make the water quality just about perfect rather than a fuge.

what do you lot think.

I may be wrong and tehre may be another skimmer coming out but i cant confirm!

As soon as i know i will update.

Cheers all

I emailed Stuart from D&D and he did not mention the 300. I think they are refering to a different product - when are they getting them in?

in the next week or so but i recon its going to be that. Crossing my figers it aint but if it is i may try a little hood modding! UH OH!

Think it would make stocking the nano alot easier and stop the common "slicks" on the surface etc. Chamber 2 would be perfect for one!

jack why not keep the fuge and buy a external 1 and put it in the cabinet

Apparently a Tunze Doc 9002 nano skimmer
will fit - but the collection cup needs some "adjustment" - read buterching. I might mod mine, but I get very little out of it anyway. I like to see something fit in chamber 1.

Some chappy in the states has just started selling skimmers for the dx12 and dx24:

Which ones look good?

A few issues with these tanks and skimmers.

You need to have a near constant water level with an intank skimmer.

You need enough "head room" to fit the chamber/cup.

I'll see how mine fits with these water level issues - although the chamber 2-3 wall can be modded to increase/decrease the level in chamber 1/2.

9002's can be had on ebay occassionally.
