I must be doing something right! Most, if not all of my turbo's have ickle mini snails attached to them!

They started appearing about 2 months ago, the eldest now being about 5mm accross.

Cool!

IIRC these are a pest and slowly kill the snail they are attached to. Might be worth posting this pic in the ID section as I can't remember the name of the little bug*ers.

Thanks guys.. good job i posted!

Anyone familiar with eradicating these little buggers?

I'm guessing it's snail out, and chip em off with a knife?

I'll pop something in ID.

Hi Peely,

You need to remove your turbo's, place them in a tub of tank water and scrub them with a toothbrush, keep doing this daily, for all the snails you can see in your tank.

A fish that will eat/control them is Radiant wrasse, Halichores iradius;

Best of luck getting rid.

Thanks Steve. Round one complete!

Sadly the Radiant wrasse is a no-no - 30 gal and an open top. Not much substrate either.

I might have a look for a Six Line - ive bought nothing but coral for months!

I had the same problem, killed plenty of my snails and a clam :(

Scrubbing with a toothbrush daily didn't seem to help, my only solution was the above mentioned wrasse, which has done the trick, and fingers crossed, not seen the pyramids at all in recent months.

Regards,

Greg
