I had the same problem, my Nem was host to four clowns but when the crab took up residence they left the Nem and stayed high up in corner of tank at night.
I persuaded (gently honest!!!) the crab to move from Nem and within a couple of days the clowns were back.
So its up to you if you prefer the clowns or crab residing in your Nem, I know which one I choose.

i introduced an anenome porcelain crab to my tank and have a pair YB maroon clowns residing in nem, well the crab tried from all angles to get into the nem but the fem clown was having none of it, she continued to nudge crab away lol and now crab lives around the foot area of nem but he still gets a nudge from her now and then, i imagine if clown was small she may given way as crab is nice size too but she a big girl and a fiesty one at that, headbutts my hand if it strays within 6" of nem.

my crab was kicked out by the clowns- so i bought a small BTA just for him! he never left it and the clowns lived in their 12" bta.

no way a decent size clown will be bullied by a crab that waves fans about!

I am with Tiggsy on this I am staggered a Porcelain crab would be able to evict any species of clown. In the wild if an anemone is large enough, then you can get clowns and porelain crabs together but it is like one in 15 to 20.

Out of curiosity what species of porcelain crab do you have (or colour pattern) as some are much more difficult to keep than others.

Best Regards

Do you know which are hard? Am interested in this as I just got one of the bluer smaller spot kind.
