Red marks on a yellow tang are usually an unhealthy sign.

Usually stemming from malnutrition and or possibly water conditions.
Make sure you are feeding greens spiralina flake is usually good for tangs and is cheap vary the diet and add frozen. How many times do you feed a day you should be feeding at least twice, tangs are grazers and must eat bits all day i.e. greens.

"A Yellow Tang showing petecchial (bloody body and fin) marks. Often the direct result of poor water quality, having nothing to do with parasitic or infectious disease. "

"Yellow tangs are also notable bio-assay organisms, showing the effects of diminished water quality and/or malnutrition ahead of many other types of organisms. Erosive hole in the head, lateral line, off-feeding... are indicative of low pH, high organics, C avitaminoses. Appropriate set-up, water change, proper foods all prevent this."

Does your tang look like the one half way down the page on the above link?

If you decide to feed greens I would ensure that was a marine algae based food such as Nori or other frozen/dried tang diets and good marine herbivore flake.

Terrestrial plants such as lettuce and spinach are very poor diets for tangs as they are nutritionally incomplete for these animals and the tangs find them very hard to digest (they are not equipped with the appropriate enzymes to deal with the lipids & antinutrients, such as lectins, in terrestrial plants.)

Indeed there is a lot of scientific evidence that the lipids in terrestrial plants can damage the heart and liver of marine fish.

As for the red spots it is very difficult to say without a photograph, but I would be suspicious of a superficial bacterial infection initially.
