View Full Version : Arcadia Arc-pod nano lighting
Has anybody used one of the new(?) Arcadia arc-pods (http://www.arcadia-uk.info/product.php?psub=0&pid=46&mid=10&lan=en&id=4)?
They look quite cool but would like some first hand reviews if possible!!
Could be quite good to say have 2 x 11W over a 12"x8"x8" pico giving about 8W per gallon. Possibilities are endless!!
Can't find the dimensions anywhere including Arcadia's own site - anybody know what they are?

I doubt that clamp mechanism is saltwater proof?
ive been using one of these for a couple of months on my nano sump, the clamp for the light is perfectly safe to use on salt water as its made of plastic, just be carefull with the clips that hold the clear plastic cover over the light bulb,i managed to snap one before i got it on the tank!
soz mate just noticed you wanted dimentions, ive got the 11 watt one its 11 inches long,4 inches wide at its widest point and 2 inches high.it also comes with a plastic fixing to screw it to a hood so you dont have to use the plasic angle clamp.hope this helps.the sump i use it on is 15high 7 wide and 12 wide, weird size i know but its on a nano.have to get pics up soon.
Thanks for the info jayE :)
Just out of interest Jay, what bulb do you use in your arcadia pod. I've been looking at these for lighting a nano aswell.

tom,the bulb i use is the standard arcadia bulb that came with it,its a push fit compact bulb,i use it for the sump only, the light isnt that strong mate, enough for a sump buy not over the nano tank itself,im running a aqua medic 150w 14k over the tank.

Well paul my old bean, it's all just theoretical atm, but I've got several small odds and sods, several nice purple fan worms, small green blasto frag etc that I want to keep in a small low light nano...similar to the one on sale at stm. Water changes will simply be a small jug removed every few days and replaced with water from my main tank. Probably no fish. Summer shouldn't be a problem either with my room being air con'd ;)
Nice and simple! :D
