Hey everybody,

Okay, with Xmas looming, I'm seriously considering setting up a little tank (nano). I'm no stranger to reefkeeping, but Im new to reefkeeping in the UK.

Please can you guys give me rough prices on a 20gallon system drilled with overflow and a sump, would like to have 1 x 150w MH - but T5's should be adequate, maybe 4 x 24w tubes, will run it without a 'fuge but will go with a biggish skimmer? (suggestions pls). Basically going with the standard Berlin system, will run barebottom with SEIO pumps for flow maybe but keen to try the nano streams... - will probably run the system on ZEOvit, used this before packing up my last tank...

Will probably start with zoo's and ric's plus the odd acan and micro I get my grubby little paws on(heads up! Will be looking for frags...)-> will see how long it takes till I start collecting SPS again... damn curse of those coloured sticks!

Potentially considering on of those little D&D tanks, the new nano's? Remember seeing STM had some great nanos but they're not around anymore from what I've seen.

Budget isn't big so let me know what you think my total spend would be including some great LR but minus livestock.

Thanks in advance http://www.reefcove.co.uk/forums/style_emoticons/default/thumb%5B1%5D.gif

I've got a D&D nano and have just totted up my cost so far inc stand, L/R, sand, test kits etc and few lighting mods, RO unit and auto top (from scratch needed everything) no livestock and am over the £700 mark already.

i have done the same i have an excel spreadsheet and i am over £700 now but like rockpoolie i had nothing before. Bare in mind i spent that £700 over 2 months though.
The D&D's are visually the best IMO but they arent cheap. Nice stands for them too so i would recommend one. Although i have one so i may be biased. check out my thread in "members tank specs" or jays new nano in there too for some ideas!

Cheers

the nanocube is a pricy way forward imho.. if you have a tight budget then i am sure you could do a similar thing with a std tank and build your own rear compartment...
