how long have you had the regal in there for? How does he get on competing for food? You have alot of fast/aggressive fish in there.
My regal died about 3 weeks ago. I was never completley happy that he was getting enough food. He would only eat mysis/brine and mussel from a shell. I could never get him to take Nori or sponge based angel food,which i think was the downfall,plus he couldnt compete well enough for food.
I think if there going to survive long term they need to be the top fish in the tank,and taking a wide range of foods.

I've only just got him, but he is all over the tank, and is even taking flake, which I am surprised at (but chuffed of course). I've also elastic-banded Nori to a piece of rock, and he is pecking at that, as well as the algae on the sides of the tank. So, looking hopeful.
You are right though, I've got some fast little fishies in there. All healthy and happy though (so they tell me when I ask them!)
Sounds like your off to a good start with him eating flake,nori,and algea.

My regal takes flake, mussel, squid, mysis, brine, sponge based frozen etc., in fact anything except nori sheets. Reading suggests that any which are not from the red sea are doomed and I've seen a few in dealer tanks looking very grim. Mine is pretty shy though and loves his cave. Try to grab him scoffing later on cam if I can.
i wanna see i wanna see. can't download flash player 8, just doesn't wanna work. is it because i keep un-ticking the box to download yahoo search bar too. i have no need for yahoo but do want flashplayer 8, any ideas phil???

Had it since it was a tiny little thing. Apparently, that one (with the purple spots) is very rare. have you ever seen one before?
not before your film i hadn't. also, where did you get the seagulls that swim around on the surface, are they from the uk or special imports, they look very small for local ones :)
They are from the Ascension Islands, and are a dwarf form of Albatross (hard to tell from the angle i did the film). They feed on Gem tangs, but as you can see, there's plenty of food in there for them!
so do you import your gem tangs yourself or do you still have to go through your lfs?
do you have much fighting between your spotted 12 ft moray and the dozen dragon eels you have? i wish i had a 90 foot reef in my lounge, you're so lucky to live in windsor castle.
