clams and gobies

Hi i'm toying with the idea of getting 3 or 4 clams in my tank, which will be sited on the sand, Now i have a pink spot goby that likes to shift sand around like they do, Is this going to harm the clams in anyway if he does decide to do this?
By this he likes to sit on corals and munch and drop.
If the answer is yes i may take away the sand to cure the problem before it happens.

Any thoughts peeps?

I have kept clams with my blue cheek goby for many years without any issues. In-fact the clams like the sand stirred up a bit as it brings food to them...
