Don't see why not!

I had a 150w oceanlight over my 11g and all was very well!

Yes and they don't seem much more expensive than those Vipers...

Look nicer as well IMO

Glad you posted this ebcasue i have been looking for a MH for my nano for weeks now.. however at £269 its expensive and a viper will be closer to £180 i think. Do you know anywhere that sells the giesermann cheaper?

If not i will just get it December when i get paid again lol as i think it will also sort out heat issues of the closed lid all i will do is put 4-6 PC fans blowing accross water surface when the light is on. Opinions?

what about one of the halide kits that you can get from fishmanfrags for example

only thing with that is i would actually rather buy the giesermann and pay £80 more for visuals and quality more than anything. Build quality if great on the G's. And as mine is a D&D nano the tank looks nice so want the light to match style wise so the Giesemann NOVA II looks perfect... Just the price tag!

Anyone know somewhere i can get it cheap? also what would you recommend, 150w or 250w? the price diff is £10

AND... dosnt look like they have actinics so would i be better off with a 20k bulb?

You can also get a 70 watt unit but the price is only about £15 less.....

Their is an outfit that sells them cheaper in Holland, but i got mine for the other tank in the UK.... DOubt i would buy from abroad.....

Also i thing the 150w viper is about £220 ! so it is not that much more ....

wtf?!

I thought the viper was cheaper, and it looks like a piece of crap!
Ok thats it then, Giesermann Nova II in black will be ordered to be here before crimbo!

As for my Q about actinics? any opinions? Does the nova have em, if not 20k MH bulbs?

No they are only for MH unless you buy the 9w T5 version

Have a look at their UK website under NOVA II and it will give you specs and RRP

I would go for the 14.5K Giesemann bulbs as they give a nice colour IMO...

I 14.5K's in my Giesemann Infiniti for my main tank and like the colour.

ok mate,

sounds good and would you say i would need 150 or 250? dont want to go for 70 as if i do upgrade my tank this could at least be used in part or even at 1 end of the tank etc.

Price diff is minimal so i dont know. Bare in mind my coral is low in my tank at the mo?
