Good Evening,

I recently purchase a sun coral from my lfs, it looked nice and healthy and although it wasnt out in flower it responded to mysis being wofted around it so I got it..

anyway ive got it back in the tank and it has settled in nicely, but im still a bit miffed and struggling with it..

Do they only open during certain times of the day? or only at night?
I have been trying to drop bits of mysis on the heads, when I can get them to open with a pipette, is their a better way as this isnt very accurate...

At the moment I can only seem to get some heads to open, I would imagine more will open as it settles in..

does anyone have any tips for keeping this coral fed and healthy...

:D

Feed some cyclopeeze to the tank a good 15 mins before you intend feeding, that seems to wake mine up and they are virtually all out shortly after that.

Hi

I bought a sun coral about three weeks ago from my lfs and had the same problem. I cut the bottom of a large orange squash container, placed it over the top of the coral then, with a large turkey baster squirted brine shrimp mixed with cyclop-eeze into the top and replaced the lid.
After about five mins the heads all open, so just add a little more at a time.
Feed mine about a cube mixed with a tiny pinch cyclop-eeze everyday.
Make sure that the container is thoroughly cleaned with RO, needless to say.
