well done, my two clowns used to have babies more or less one after another, you will find they will go dark then one night your go to bed and get up in the morning and they will have hatched and gone.

Then a couple of weeks later there will be more eggs and the process starts again, to catch them is one thing but to raise them is something different, worth speaking to shops like stm who will be able to give you good advice on how you go about trying to raise them.

Good luck and again well done.

Mate, they are cleaning it for the next lay, mine used to do this, they kept the same spot clean and the female then hovers over the place and does a little wiggle and lays the eggs.

ill be surprised if they get that close, the anemone should give them reason not to wander too close alough i have had one or two who has looked like they were trying to go under, the clowns will also give them what for if they get to close so they will be no worry there.

They will probably lay more eggs now they have started. Good parent nutrition is essential for healthy eggs and fry. If you want to raise the babies you will need to remove them into a rearing tank just before they hatch, feed them rotifers for the first week and then overlap that with larger food like copeopds or artemia.
There is a good article coming out in the new Ultra Marine magazine on raising larval fish, it will be on the shelves on the 15th of December.;)

Hi guys
nope dont need nem to lay eggs thats home she the big one will find a nice smothe hard surface to lay her eggs on after giving it a good clean for a couple of days . This is the trick if you want to have a go a raising the babies put a piece of slate smooth stone tile something like that near where they live . if they find it to their taste and start cleaning it get you nursery tank ready . the eggs dont disapear they hatch::)
They will lay for a couple of days get another piece of slate ready it realy needs to match . when they are not looking never lifting the eggs out of water swap the tile .
Put the stone with eggs into baby tank modest flow and airation . they hatch at night and swim to the surface and are near invisible. They need plankton foods for week ten days start to ween them on to very fine foods ,flakes rubbed between clean fingers till its like dust.
Keeping the parents fit and well fed with vit enriched diet will keep them in good condition , though conversly if they are laying they will only do it if they are fit and happy so you must be doing something right in the first place :D :D :D
There is a good book on clown breeding cant think of its title might be Clown breeding

if there are no other fish in the tank apart from your 2 clowns, can you not leave the fry in there?

i should think so i think i am right in saying that they will not eat there own fry but i am sure you will have a better result if you raised the fry in a smaller catch tank so you can be sure they are getting the food you will need to feed them in order for the fry to survive.

hi i would suspect that unless you have some very fine mesh over your powerheads and the inlets to your water system wiers and stuff all your babies will get mashed in the pumps . In your nursery tank use air stones or wood preferably to give water movement enough but not too much or they will wear them selves out and not grow .

No they will have no chance in the tank, not only would they get minced by the pumps but lots of the critters in your tank will eat them including the corals, copepods, worms, gamarus etc etc. On top of that you would need to put so much live food in your tank to feed them you would probably pollute it.
A 24x12x12 bare tank could be used to raise them.

There is a great book called 'Clownfishes, a guide to their captive care, breeding and natural history' by Joyce D. Wilkerson.
It is pretty cheap, is a good read, and has over a 100 pages just devoted to breeding and fry raising. Its also probably worth getting if you intend raising any other marine fish fry.
I got mine off Amazon, and have read it cover to cover.
