Could it be because its infront of a powerhead ?
Thanks

If it is in too much flow, the polyps will retract and remain retracted until the flow is less. If this carries on the entire colony could shrink.
Try moving the flow so that it is not aimed directly at the coral, maybe bounce it of one of the side walls or move it so that is going over, not onto the coral.
I've got a large sarcophyton and the polyps are only just swaying in the current.
Has it been moved recently, if so this may have caused it to close?
Yes they don't like direct flow. Move the powerhead if possible.
I noticed your other thread
I must have a reverse leather
It comes out at night after lights out and goes in when the lights come on !
I take it this is not normal ..Steve
it could be light shock what lights are you using and is the leather near the top.
John.
mine sits in direct flow of a tunze 6000 and loves it sulks if you move it out of the flow
