hello i have just noticed on my royal gramma and long nose butterfly fish they have small white spots on there tail and fin. My gramma has one white spot on his fin and the butterfly has 3 spots on his tail, i was just wondering if this could be white spot or something else?
Thanks

it could be but its too soon to say, whitespot tends to spread and get worse, unless you have a picture that you can post it will be difficult to say, it could be a few things.

if spots are pronounced and like grains of salt you have cryptocaryon whitepot.
If spots are fine/dusty you may have oodinium this also makes fish breath rapidly.

John,

Do not celebrate yet, they may well have just fallen off into your tank and will reappear only twice or more the amount as before, too early to say they have gone completly but i hope for you they have.

Yep I agree with arrows it could just be replicating in the sediment ready to realse a new wave of tomites to re-infect your fish
