View Full Version : Sump in a nano cube
Can it be done, thinking of an overflow box rather than drilling, not sure what size I would be able to squeeze into the cabinet though
would be interesting to see what people think- sorry i can't help but i to am interested in the reply
sorted now mate, chris at cyber is supplying me one with my 24galon cube!
Have you gone for an overflow? Can I ask why are you going for a sump? Presumeably there is a compartment at the back anyway. I want to do the same, so I can go the Miracle Mud route, but am looking to do it all in the same tank, rather than having a sump underneath. May just go for a standard 24g tank anyway, as I have been thinking about this for months now....
Cheers,
Pete
ye, there is the space at the back mate, I just think it will give me greater scope in the future, tank is drilled under the 2nd compartment of the rear filter section.
I may use it for a fuge but prob not as Im worrying about the pods making itto the tank alive through the impellor of the return pump.
May build a closed lop with this being where the return pump will be! Still not 100% on what Im gonna do with it then, but better for me to have it from the sart I reckon, plus I get a little more volume anyway!!

Pods will make it through the impellor, i have a surge tank supplied by a mj1200 that dumps into the main tank and i have pods living in there. there was an article a while ago demonstrated the dessication of pods through an impellor, however, they used brine shrimp not copepods. The copepods will get through.

Now see, that would make it a whole lot easier for me Claude!!! In that case I'll make it into a fuge, would you say cryptic?? As I am planning to grow macro in the 2nd chamber with LR rubble reverse lit!! So thinking Lr rubble in the fuge with a slow flow through???
