View Full Version : Hammer LPS Coral Spawning?
Just watching my tank (tank lights are off, but the room lights are still on) and my hammerhead coral ejected a jet of small white blobs into the water a good 6 inches straight up. The white blobs were a little larger than a pinhead and quickly dispersed into the water and all round the tank. My Sixline Wrasse then ate as many as he could.
Is this the hammer spawning? I cant think what else it could be.
It seems to be doing it once every 3 or 4 minutes but it's now a more milky substance. It seems in inflate slightly and then suddenly collapse forcing this jet of white stuff out.
I tried to get a photograph of it, but you cant see the jet very clearly at all in the photograph because of the flash:(
Tonight it's doing the same thing at exactly the same time - an hour after lights off.
Spooky, some of my mushrooms seem to be doing the same thing, never seen itg before in the years that I've had them. Must be something in the air!

Yeah I saw your thread. I wonder if the moon is an influencing factor as it is in the wild.
