I came home tonight to find that a hermit crab had died and some of my anemone's tentacles looked like, you know when a kids magician twists a baloon to make a giraffe or dog or whatever, thats the best way I can describe it. I think there must be about a quarter of the tentacles like this. The only thing I can think of was that it seemed like it was stretched higher in the tank than normal, right in the flow of the powerhead, the area where the strongest flow was hitting the nem was where it seemed to have been affected most, however I do not know if this is the cause!! here is a couple photos..........

It has actually gone back to normal after I turned off the powerhead, but I don't understand why it did this in the firstplace, I thought I had managed to kill it inside a week, has nobody seen this before??From the lack of replies I assume not??

Not seen tentacles do that before - are you sure they could not actually get sucked into the powerhead at all? I'd be concerned if there are unprotected pumps in the same tank - anemones are easily minced!

If it's returned to normal, I guess everything is okay - can't imagine why else it would have done this.
