Firstly, I would like to say thankyou to all those who entered in Novermbers SOTM. Some excellent shots were posted there :)

Secondly, I would like to say another well done to Reefbloke (Tony), who won Novembers SOTM and is currently chosing a frag from Fishman :p

So, this months SOTM prize is going to be £50 worth of corals or inverts from CyberAquatics! An excellent prize, I'm sure you'll agree!

The subject will be INVERTS, be it crabs, urchins, worms or anything without a spine that is in your tank! :p

Get posting, this month is not one to miss! :D

Cheers
Dan

Wow, stunning pic there.

Only one image per person will be judged, so I'd guess that you want the first one judged Ollie100?

Strange performing snails.
If you look closely at which way up they are, it looks like they were all in a stack then fell over  :D

Are we talking motile inverts here or sessile as well (as that includes corals)?

Dantheman, would it be possible to ask UR members who are submitting the photos to detail what camera they have, some of these photos are incredible and I want a camera which can take shots like these...obviously I'm not putting down the person behind the camera...

dan-the-man
12-12-06, 16:10
No problem.

If people could put down the camera they use I'm sure it would help people out a lot :)

Congrats Jim nice pic :)

Wouldn't it be more appropriate to vote with a poll each month rather than one person chosing? Or let the person providing the prize to chose - i.e. sponsor? I'm assuming the choice is yours Dan?

clippo
03-01-07, 15:23
great winning shot - congrats.

here's another request for poll to decide winner.

Snowsurfer
03-01-07, 16:21
Nice.

A poll might not work if people have preferences of people, would only work fairly if all the pictures were posted at the same time with no names then given a week of voting for example.

A photography forum i visit does this and it seems to work well. But they also have the rule if you have posted the pic before on the forum your not allowed to enter it into the comp as again people will know who took it.

Points taken fellas. Although it gives no credit to other people, but we can run a trial no probs :)

This month we will have nameless images posted by me. Then on the third week of the month there will be one weeks voting time.

there were some amazing shots this month but I think mysticwave would have got my vote in a poll anyway. Great photo.

zpyder
04-01-07, 16:00
Is there a rule that you can't submit the same photo again? Otheriwse Mistic could quite well win this months too! He should see about putting the image on places like www.deviantart.com If he really liked it, and wanted to, he could make it available as a print and maybe make a little money on it when people order it as a print!

mysticwave_2
05-01-07, 13:47
I was thinking that too :). If anyone wants a copy i.e for desktop pic, then send me a PM with your e-mail address and I will send it.
Could put it on Deviantart, but have never had anyone buy any of my other stuff before.

Maybe UR could host a Gallery for all the SOTM excellent shots??? the current gallery seems to be a bit neglected on here and could be put to better use. Also could help people in IDing various critters and coral.

Also allow them to be downloaded in various sizes for desktops, if people can supply a large enogh format.

Jim

dan-the-man
05-01-07, 13:59
Yes there is that rule Zpyder, only submit one photo once.

The prize this month will be from RO-Man, and its a 'COM-100 TDS meter', about the best meter on the market!!

Regards
Dan
