My BTA has been quite happily sitting under a 54W t5 compact for a few months, its recently decided it doesn't like the light as much as it used to and keeps wndering around the back of the rock into the shadows.

Should i be expecting it to split or something else?

if he is wandering about it is more likely that you don't have enough light and he is of searching for a brighter source than hiding from it because he doesn't like it. i'd expect him to go inside the rock if it was too bright.

I am a newbie but thought I would throw this in

Has your flow pattern in your tank hasnt changed as this could cause the nem to move

Scoob, he sits underneath 15WPG of light, so thats not a problem.

Shab, no change in flow pattern still the same old 66 times turn over per hour

i had one move just because i changed to a new bulb,it took acouple of days before it settled down before it moved back to its original spot.i even raised the light up by 12ins as not to shock it but if they not happy they will move and there is nothing you can do but leave them.derek

Check your elements.

Check my elements? My own personal elements? I'm not sure where i would find my elements to check them.
