Well I guess I have to start somewhere. If you haven't seen an empty Aqua Medic Chromis tank before then here you go. All can say for now is here it is installed, well positioned really in its final resting place before the real serious work begins of filling, stocking and aquascaping it.

I have a ton of euipement left over from my last last 140 gallon reef aquarium much of it either overkill or simply not required for this project. I have already sold some of this surplus equipement off the proceeds of which went towards purchasing said Chromis.

I hope to update the progress of the tank soon to become Nano reef aquarium as and when but don't hold your breath. Well Christmas is upon us and one of the the first thing I need to do is either buy an RO unit or recharge the API tap water filter that come with my tank. I wont get very far with no water in the system.:(

Right thats your lot, I hope the pic appears OK.

Good luck with this Les!Nice to see an old face starting back up.You could fill the API filter with Di resin i suppose from one of our sponsors but depending on how much its takes to fill i think id just get myself an RO unit from RO man.

Little update.

I went to Interfish on Firday and bought the following. A Tunze nanostream 6025, a Hydor powerhead flo deflector wave-maker. This is a handy little thing fits on most powerhead oulets and rotates to send a stream of water 360o around the aqarium, cost £9-99p. This I will use with one of my powerheads that I have had for sometime.

I also bought 2 x 30lb bags of Caribsea Aragonite sugar size to create a
2-1/2" DSB. Anybody who knows Interfish will have seen Roys (the owner) Chromis nano reef using this sand in tank as a DSB and very successful it is to. I have washed the sand god knows how many times and it will still take sometime to clear when the water is added. I will rig up an external powerfilter full of filter wool to trap whats left in there.

I also bought the Jad nano 9wt 7200k clip on lamp (more pics posted in the lighting forum). I would have bought 2 but he only had the 1 in silver left. I may decide to replace the bulb with an actinic 03, we shall see. The Jad light/lights will be positioned on the side of the Aquarium, probably as I have yet to decide.

The Jad lamps will fit nicely under my 150w AM MN lamp. Talking of which Roy has had made a rather nifty AM MH support made of steel bar which slips on each side of the Chromis instead of using the wires to suspend the lamp, Anybody know if there is something similar out there to buy?

I have ordered an RO unit and am awaiting its delivery. Once I have this I can start filling my aquarium up, shouldnt take to long I guess. I still have the electrics to sort out etc etc etc.

I have added a few pics but they are hardly exciting however they should give you some idea of the equipement installed.

Thats all for now folks.
