Bought what i thought was a Bubble Tip Anemone some 5 year ago, all nice and copmpact and tight to the rock ,now he is about 18 inches in diameter with very long( 4 inch tenticals). Is it possible with the aid of excess currant that he could revert back to the normal shape of a Bubble tip ?

the problem with bta is some keep their bubbles all the time and some dont.all the ones i have or have kept have lost their bubbles and have never come back.there is no known cause why this happens and this does not effect the anemone in any way.my 2 rbta have grown to over 16in across because i feed them every couple of days.do you feed your anemone if so try feeding it once a month this might help to restrict its growth a little.derek

FWIW, I never feed my BTA, other than what it gets when I feed live brine to the rest of the tank. It has been around for years now and never grown huge.

The bubble tips also become larger when it hasnt been able to catch any passing brine for some time.

JMHO, but if you have good lights (must be halides !!) direct feeding of a nem should not be required.

Cheers
