I'm very unhappy at the moment and need advice please. :(

Last night I found my RBTA sucked into the Tunze Stream, luckily I noticed this early and only a small bit of the side went through the weir. I quickly got a knife and cut the stream weir to let the nem out.

What I want to know is if anyone else experienced this and how they made the Tunze Stream nem safe?

I thought about using woman’s stockings around the Tunze weir…?

Sadly this is an all too familiar story. :(

Anemones are very prone to this - they have a tendency to move around the tank, and being extremely delicate creatures they are easily sucked into a powerhead or pump or Stream.

The short answer is that only a well designed closed loop design is appropriate for a tank in which an anemone will be kept. Many people do, however, keep anemones in tanks with powerheads and Streams - a variety of safety measures have been tried with varying degrees of success.

Someone asked this a short while ago, look here ....

(Tried a stocking around it initially: gets bunged-up way to quickly).

anemones always seem to find a way to a powerhead wether you you try and cover the front or not.most once settled stop in the same place all the time but can move anytime.the only safe as already stated is to use closed loops.derek

Not used one myself, but maybe one of the Tunze rocks may help??
It should be able to stop a nem getting sucked in.... maybe (??)

No, unfortunately it wouldn't.

What a fighter, the day after I cut it out of the Tunze, its opened up completely. It's got a few war wounds but healing nicely. The clowns are enjoying it and it ate as well. Very impressed with my nem. :)

And what have you done to stop it wandering into the Stream again?
