Lookin good Adam, all survived the move upto uni then! Ditch the airstone though, get a small powerhead mate and maybe a Hydor Flow!

Hi,

As above, ditch the airstone, much better to get a small P/H and aim at surface.

Whats a hydro flow?

Whats a hydro flow?

Its a device that fits on the output end of a P/H, it rotates as water passes through, thereby you get a more dispursed flow.

Most LFS sell them.

cool, i'll have a look at them when i got to my LFS, One reason i have the air pump in there apart form a power head is because it takes up less room, What is actually wrong with an air pump? or is a P/H more efficient?

Hi,

Don't think there is actually anthing "wrong" with an air pump, IIRC the bubbles produced by the Air Stone, will annoy your corals.

If you look at members tanks, I can not recall one running with an air pump.

The reason behind surface movement is to help with exchange of gasses.

A small Maxi jet would do your job perfectley, it has a moveable nozzle so you could direct this at the surface of the water.

Much better IMO.
